- In 2008, Headie became 21k gold plated; produced in the UK after failed attempts to get the same quality locally.
- The award was hosted for the first time outside Nigeria on the 4th of September 2022, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta Georgia, United States.
