Published on

A remarkable feat has been achieved by Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef widely known as Hilda Effiong Bassey, as she has broken the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual.”

The previous record set by Chef Lata Tondon from India, which stood at 87 hours and 45 minutes, has been surpassed by Hilda Baci. On Thursday at 4 pm, the cooking marathon was initiated by her, and the previous record has been surpassed.

However, her determination lies in establishing a new record by cooking for a total of 96 hours, thus becoming the first person in the world to spend such a significant amount of time cooking. Widespread support for her remarkable endeavor has been garnered from government officials, celebrities, religious leaders, and fellow Nigerians who have expressed their encouragement.

The remarkable achievement has received support from prominent figures such as President-elect Bola Tinubu, former vice president Atiku Abubakar, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
