During a sermon titled ‘Uncommon Miracles’ at the September Thanksgiving Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s National Headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer, reminisced about the time when the Nigerian naira held more value than the American dollar.
He expressed his belief that those prosperous days would return and prayed for it.In response to a lukewarm “Amen” from the congregation, Pastor Adeboye confidently asserted that if the Lord he serves remains in control, those glorious days will indeed come back.
He encouraged the congregation to recognize the presence of a God of miracles when such a turnaround occurs.
Currently, the Nigerian naira’s exchange rate in the black market hovers around N915 to N918 for a dollar, and it has struggled to maintain its value against the dollar and other foreign currencies.
Many have foreseen that it may soon reach the N1,000 to a dollar mark. This currency challenge has adversely affected businesses and the cost of living, particularly following the Federal Government’s removal of fuel subsidies.
