Anambra 2025 Election: INEC distributes sensitive materials ahead

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun distributing sensitive election materials to Registration Area Centres (RACs) across the state. These include the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices, and Forms EC8A and EC8B. It was also a call to notice that all materials as evenly shared across the 21 local government areas ahead of Saturday’s November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.

The distribution of election materials took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria office in Awka. It was also noted that that party agents, Inec officials and security operatives were present to ensure transparency.

Security deployments
  • Initially a deployment of about 45,000 officers was referenced; the number has been increased to 55,000 (and some sources report up to 60,000) to cover all polling units.
  • The objective is to ensure voters, election officials, and materials are safe, including in land, riverine, and remote communities.
  • The state police commissioner emphasized that the increased security presence is not intended to intimidate voters but to guarantee safety and credible operations.
