In an attempt to finalize a transfer for Cesare Casadei, who has only played 71 minutes for the Blues, Chelsea is supposedly in contact with Fiorentina.

After Enzo Maresca chose not to include the midfield player in the team for the team’s preseason tour to the United States, there are a lot of rumors swirling over Casadei’s future at Stamford Bridge. Additionally, Fiorentina has reportedly spoken with Chelsea to arrange a deal for the Italian, per Gianluca Di Marzio.

The two teams have not yet agreed on the conditions of the transaction, but Fiorentina is hoping to sign the midfielder on loan. Casadei worked under Maresca at Leicester City while his loan there during the previous season. Nevertheless, when Chelsea invited him back in January, his time with The Foxes came to an end. Even after coming back, Casadei was mainly utilized as a bench warmer for the rest of the season.
