Hunger Protest at Lekki Toll Gate : Real Updates & Stories
Today being the 1st day of August 2024, Nigerians nationwide has decided to embark on a Nationwide protest. The reason for this protest, is due to the unavailability of good standard of living among the masses. Reporting from Lekki toll gate, as at 7am until 9am no protesters has arrived the toll gate venue. Video coverage of armed police and military men, were present . It is believed that they are there to protect the interest of well meaning Nigerians, to avoid a protest hijack.
Around Past 11am, a sizeable number of protesters were seen at the Lekki Toll Gate axis. They came with their banners and cardboards chanting and singing in solidarity. With high hopes, they believe their voices will be heard, but as at this moment, President Tinubu is yet to address the nation. Our correspondent reports.
The Security operatives explained to the protesters that they were not allowed to stage a protest at the Lekki toll gate axis. According to them, it was an order from Alausa, Ikeja. In a brief dialogue, the protesters made it known to them that is their constitutional right, and that is higher than the court order.

Allegedly, an Eye witness posted a live video from security operatives throwing tear gas at peaceful protesters.
