Manchester United Transfer News: Erik ten Hags Great Signing

Two of the five Man Utd transfer targets have been signed by Erik ten Hag, while Manuel Ugarte is nearing

After Manchester United signed their first two players, Erik ten Hag has his sights set on future acquisitions. Manuel Ugarte is the next player on the team’s wish list.

Dutch coach Ten Hag has already witnessed the expenditure of almost to £90 million on his team since agreeing to a two-year contract extension this summer. Furthermore, it’s evident that new stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is having an influence as he works to restore Old Trafford to its rightful glories.

With the exception of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Rasmus Hojlund, it appears Manchester United will be making a lot of changes this summer transfer window.

Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial have already been replaced by signings for Ten Hag’s team. But as the team is restructured, they still have an eye on a Uruguayan enforcer and another defensive addition.

Joshua Zirkzee

Zirkzee, who joined from Serie A team Bologna, became the first player signed by INEOS. Ten Hag’s team had to pay £36 million to acquire the 23-year-old, who played for the Netherlands in the 2024 European Championship.

After finishing in fifth place, Ratcliffe saw fit to bring in the player, who will help lead this team to the Champions League group stages. This is Ratcliffe’s first acquisition since he bought a 29% share in the United.

Zirkzee agreed to a deal that would run until June 2029 with the option for an additional year’s extension. The forward expressed his excitement about the transfer by saying, “I can’t wait to contribute to Manchester United’s success.” As a player, I’ve always given my all to succeed.

“I’m prepared for this new challenge, which will help me advance in my work and bring home additional awards. Being able to join a club of that kind is a privilege. After being with the national team, I have to take a little break, but I’ll be back ready to contribute right away.

Leny Yoro

Varane left Manchester United, therefore United spent no money at all to sign 18-year-old Leny Yoro from Lille as a replacement for the French defender.

The £58.7 million center defender signed a contract with the team that expired in June 2029. Yoro, who only made his Lille debut two years ago, made significant growth and was named to the Ligue 1 Team of the Year the previous season.

Manuel Ugarte

Manuel Ugarte, a holding player for PSG valued at £59 million, is reportedly United’s top target following the acquisitions of Yoro and Zirkzee.

Ugarte is no longer in the head coach Luis Enrique’s favor despite having only paid a substantial £51 million to join the French team last summer. In particular, he was blamed for his subpar performance in the Champions League match against Newcastle.

Mazraoui Noussair

Ten Hag, who wants to work with the former Ajax player again, has set his sights on Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui in an attempt to bolster the Red Devils’ defense.

Only having joined German team Bayern two years prior, the 26-year-old Moroccan may be brought in to maximize the potential of his costly acquisition, Antony, with whom he shared a flank in the Netherlands.

Matthijs de Ligt

Even if they have already committed to signing Yoro, an expensive center-half, a deal for Matthijs de Ligt, another outstanding defender for Bayern, is still brewing. After spending around £60 million on their 18-year-old French player, Bayern value their asset at £42 million, a price Manchester United ideally doesn’t want to pay.

The German media site Bild claims that the club’s initial offer of £25 million plus add-ons was turned down, even though De Ligt gave his approval and they agreed on personal conditions.
