Mrs Susan Garland Okoye – Celebrating Consistency & Class
On today’s episode, we are celebrating Mrs Susan Garland Okoye, an Evergreen Beauty queen, environmental advocate and a business woman. Over the years, she has shown high level of commitment to her craft, breaking barriers and stereotypes . Obviously, there ladies who watch things happen and those who make things happen.
In the year 2017 she emerged as the official face of Gtb fashion show, she further contested for the Miss Earth Nigeria crown in 2019, where eventually emerged as the winner of the highly coveted price. Looking at her track record, one could easily tell that, she has put in a lot of work to achieve her goals.
HER FIRST BOOK LUNCH
On the 3rd of May, 2020 , Mrs Susan then a miss, lunched her first book which she titled, The Earth is Important Too.’ According to her statements,
“I always wanted to write a book on climate change because I’m very passionate about protecting the environment. Most people in this part of the world think that climate change is a myth. They do not understand that it’s as a result of human activities distorting our ecosystems, thus, bringing harm to us. We ought to try our best to preserve the earth because it is our home and we need to make it conducive for inhabitation,” she said.

From establishing Beyond Garland Initiative, to unveiling NewsworthyTime, a media brand designed to solve business related problems such as branding, visibility, she has obviously inspired a lot of young girls and ladies in the country. As her story proves that anything is possible, if you work hard regardless of your gender, environment or background.
Family
She is Happily married to a business tycoon and serial entrepreneur Mr Obie Okoye, and they a wonderful daughter together. Mrs Susan, according to her previous statements made it known that achieving our goals in life should not be gender based, but equally and humanly oriented.
Her story preaches consistency, foresight, goal oriented and resilience, from winning domestic awards, to gaining international recognition. Mrs Susan Garland Okoye is a definition of “preparation meets opportunity”.
