Just In: ASUU Suspends It 8 months Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its eight month strike, KachiTv has confirmed.

The decision was taken unanimously by members of its National Executive Council after a lengthy six hour meeting which began on Thursday night and ended on Friday Morning.

Which was later intervened by the Speaker of House of Representatives Hon.Femi Gbajambiala.

Speaking to our correspondent after the meeting, a member who requested anonymity said the outcome was positive and the final decision was adopted based on how the branches voted.

He also hinted that students have waited long enough and can return to class once again.

When ASUU president Prof. Emmanuel Osedeke was reached, he only briefed that “We (ASUU) will release an official memo today (Friday)” and also, adding that the ‘result is not a bad one’.
