LASUSTECH DSA Partners NYSC -Educate Students on the Program

The Directorate of Student Affairs of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has organized a day orientation program for the final year students preparing for their youth service. The Program was held on Wednesday, 23rd August, 2023 at the 700 seater Auditorium.

The aim of the program was to intimate the students with detailed information about National Youth Service Corps.

In his Opening remarks, the Dean Student Student Affairs, Dr. Ademola Aderogba highlighted the three things the program was set to achieve, “The briefing will unite Nigerians, give Corp members the opportunity to contribute their quota to develop the country and create employment opportunities” he said.

Mr. Osunubi Olukayode an Assistant Director from NYSC, who narrated the history of the NYSC scheme to the students, stated that the objective of the scheme was to inculcate discipline in the Nigerian Youths. The briefing gave detailed information on mobilization, deployment, the exemptions of service.

He also talked about the importance of NYSC uniform and why it is compulsory.
